WMFE-Channel 24 (PBS)
The longtime Public Broadcasting System station for the region also operates WMFE-FM (90.7), part of National Public Radio. Its current studios in east Orlando were the onetime home of Orlando's first independent station, an early version of Channel 35. WMFE stands for "Mid-Florida Educational TV."

Slogan: "You depend on WMFE. WMFE depends on you.''
Etc: Pretty much your typical Public Television station.

(Educational)

Small station based in Daytona Beach, run in connection with Daytona Beach Community College. A secondary PBS affiliate.
WOTF-Channel 43
(Spanish, TeleFutura)

Formerly Orlando's second independent station (then known as WMOD - "Melbourne, Orlando, Daytona'') when it went on the air in 1983. Melbourne-based station switched to WBSF and Home Shopping Network in late '80s. Became TeleFutura affiliate in 2002.
WLCB-Channel 45
(Religious)

Religious station based in Leesburg. Owned by Good Life Broadcasting, which also owns Channel 52.
WTGL-Channel 52
(Religious)

Religious station formerly based in Cocoa Beach and now headquartered in Orlando. WTGL stands for "The Good Life.''
WACX-Channel 55
(Religious)

The dominate religious broadcaster in the market. Known as SuperChannel 55, it boasts that its signal reaches from the Atlantic to the Gulf. Is building a huge, high-rise broadcast center in Altamonte Springs.
WOPX-Channel 56
(Pax)

Originally "Florida's SuperStation'' and known as WAYK. Based in Melbourne, it rebroadcast its signal on Channel 26 to reach Orlando. Featured lots of sports programming. Switched to 24-hour informercials as WIRB (Indian River and Brevard counties) when bought by Bud Paxson. Now WOPX and part of Paxson's Pax Net.
WBCC-Channel 68
(Educational)

Small station operated by Brevard Community College in Cocoa. Mostly broadcasts campus classes. Sold its channel 18 slot to WKCF and got channel 68 in the deal.
